MoDa: Models + Real-World Data

MoDa (Modeling + Data) is a science inquiry environment in which students can create computer models using an easy-to-use block-based language, and validate them with real-world data from sensors, videos, or online databases. The project includes a free online environment, lesson plans for teachers, and other support materials for educators and researchers.

MoDa is a multi-institutional project with a collective leadership model. While funding may require designating a single lead PI for each individual grant, stewardship is shared equally and responsibilities are dynamically distributed among the four Principal Investigators: Paulo Blikstein (Columbia University), Tamar Fuhrmann (Columbia University), Aditi Wagh (MIT/Concord Consortium), and Michelle Wilkerson (UC Berkeley).
